Dual charging with red arc isolator

Hi, I have the older model isolator solenoid in a Toyota Coaster converted as campervan.
The primary battery is charged by the alternator.
The auxiliary batteries are charged by solar panel and charger when 240v is available.
The redarc works fine while driving to load the auxiliary batteries from the alternator.

I would also like to use it when stationary and the auxiliary batteries are charged by solar or 240v (camp site or while parked under cover at home). Up to now I have only found that pushing the manual override for a minute increases the voltage of the primary battery after which the redarc stays open (led lit).

Is there any way to automate this process so that the redarc opens when either the primary battery is above the threshold (while driving) or the auxiliary batteries are above the threshold (charged by solar or 240v).

Thanks, Axel
permalink Hi Axel,

Yes it is possible to have a SBI solenoid that switches when either battery rises above the voltage threshold, however this is a different model isolator. SBI12D is a dual-sensing battery isolator, and you need to ask for this specifically and we will set that feature at time of manufacture. If buying a new unit is not an option then unfortunately your current method is the best way.
